Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:1-6 nkjv)."
In light of the apostles' confusion on where Christ was going and how His messianic role would be demonstrated, Jesus offered them this very source of comfort. It was a comfort that though they would not follow Him to His death, they would follow Him in a spiritual kingdom of life (John. 13:36), and the messianic kingdom at His coming. He encouraged them with the relationship His coming would have to them - a relationship of blessing and hope (1 Thess. 4), in which they could encourage each other trusting they had a future home that far exceeds the here and now.
We too can eagerly wait and expect for Jesus to come again soon for us if we know Him as the only way to the Father. Likewise, we too have the privilege to practice, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the command of Christ as we reflect on the wonderful grace we have been given:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments (John 15:15)."

Sometimes when were overwhelmed...
sometimes when we've nothing left to give...
sometimes when it's "not a great time"...
sometimes it's not to rely on ourselves but to rely on God,
in our weak times... were made strong.
This kind of God love is foreign to us and doesn't feel much like love,
yet we learn how HE IS FAITHFUL TO DELIVER.
Not faith in us but in him.
Not faith in our great times but in our dark times when we see nothing... we learn he IS THERE.
Learning to rely on Him while feeling all alone and hurting.
Those tuff times are God's love.
They are also... God's grace so we can meet the days to come with him.
"Let not your heart be troubled" and "It was a comfort that though they would not follow Him to His death, they would follow Him in a spiritual kingdom of life" and
"reflect on the wonderful grace we have been given"
