charity

Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2
Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
3
But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly (Matthew 6:1-4 nkjv).

The things we do, and the words we pray must be to glorify God and God alone. If we take credit for that which we preach, that which we give, or those whom we help we rob God of the honor only He deserves.

To praise ourselves is error. To worship God is truth.

revelation

It is a strange thing we do when we turn to Christ these days. Though we learned of Him through His word: His revelation; we look to other means to live right and well.

We turn to spiritual self help books.
We turn to methods and philosophies.
We turn to guides who fill our emotional desires of experience.

And yet, we dare ask why we are void of fulfillment. The answer is simple:

"Surely the LORD God does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret
to His servants the prophets.
A lion has roared!
Who will not fear?
The LORD God has spoken!
Who can but prophesy (Amos 3:7-8 NKJV)?"

The LORD God has spoken. Will you listen?
